Peter Cruse is a portrait and event photographer based in Sheridan, Illinois. He is available for portraits, weddings, and events in southwestern Chicagoland and the surrounding areas.
While landscape and nature photography has been a hobby and passion of his for several years, Peter never realized he had an interest in photographing people until 2007, when he enrolled in a digital photography course and was given a portraiture assignment. Though he dreaded the project at the beginning, once he picked up his camera and began photographing friends and family, something happened: he realized he had both a love for and talent at portraiture.
Since that time, he has worked as a freelance photographer, building his skills and gaining experience in individual, family, child, senior, couple and glamour portraits. He even took on and successfully completed a year long daily self-portrait project. After a short two week break, he’s committed himself to completing a second year.
Though Peter is greatly involved in portaiture, his interest is not limited to portrait and nature photography. He also has wedding and sport photography experience including skiing, snowboarding, soccer and auto racing, and still enjoys taking scenic drives and hiking to capture some of the world’s most spectacular views.
